Inhoud van de cursus (alleen in het Engels beschikbaar)

HAIT research skills play an increasingly important role in industry and academia. This includes, for instance, researching the usability and user experience of innovative communication and information technologies, but also using new technologies to do empirical research. This years theme is virtual reality. That is, you will study a topic of your choice by means of virtual reality, or study the use and misuse of virtual reality technologies. To this end we will use the DAF Technology lab for mixed and virtual reality (https://www.tilburguniversity.edu/campus/daf-technology-lab/).

In this course we will discuss and practice the stages in a research project, from the start (framing the research question), to the end (reporting the research). We will describe different methods and techniques that are necessary to finish and report a research project successfully. This course is a preparation for your thesis. Note that in this course students will do small assignments in groups (pass/fail) and one final individual assignment (graded). Deadlines exist for each of the assignments. Not making the deadline results in failing the course. Examptions can be obtained via the study advisor.
